Concrete Roots

I feel like
a tree
that has grown
into a wall
unable to branch out
pushing against blocks
stacked up
      T
      A
      L
      L
I'm bound in stone
with heavy roots
so we both can exist
and not have to fall

  2. Interesting paradox you created in this poem, Chris! That feeling of being stuck, not being able to grow ... yet coexisting and supporting each other. I like the way you put TALL in the poem, very creative! Maybe eventually, with mutual support, those branches will break through and be free to grow. A lovely metaphor :)
