Voice of Rain

Rain fell and fell
day after day
Slowly I develop
a language of touch
with the rain
like a form of braille

Then suddenly
one day
the rain
breaks away
changes its tune
you hear foreign birds
singing up to
their maker
dressed up
as the moon

Somewhere Between

Between the notes
      I played

Somewhere in the middle
From the words to the applause

Of a great performance
      I was in there

long after they all left
      I was there

The only one
      Who stayed

Looking for me

The days grew tired
Time clock has stalled
lifting up freedom
as the night grows
the bottle gets lighter
the PERSON
you are
Nobody Really Knows

Every mirror
knows your face
getting very familiar
time stacking up
weighing LOUD
on your skin
that mirror laughs
as it watches
as you pay for love
while being married
to sin

Planted Past

 The sun illuminates
 a seeding breath
 that blows ahead
 past mistakes
 planted in the ground
 of a man
 that sees deep
 from inside a tree
 where the roots
 begin to paint internally
 on a palette underneath
 where the colors
 rise to the earth
 as the rains bleeds

Real Beauty

Real beauty
has her scars
knows her flaws
eyes look down
but not that...............................................Far

She's born of night
shadows walk away
from the moon
persuaded by the sun
to hold up the light

She's a beautiful picture
that bleeds
through a frame
of broken glass
people step over
as they pass

It's the truth in her
that blooms between
the poor and the rich
her beauty
is pieced together
like a stitch

Unclaimed journey

Looking for a particular road
not one painted in lines
but I know the one
It keeps me searching
long days under the sun
I ask the stars
not to tease and wink
but light a path
To an unclaimed journey
forever seeking the ones
that scream with madness
willing to go the distance
the unbroken ones
that are born to run

Concrete Roots

I feel like
a tree
that has grown
into a wall
unable to branch out
pushing against blocks
stacked up
      T
      A
      L
      L
I'm bound in stone
with heavy roots
so we both can exist
and not have to fall

Shadow of a mountain

A lonely bird
drinks from a
crowded fountain
as the others
begin to fly away
nature has her hand on pause
but she stands down
reflecting off the water
into unpolished eyes
a shadow of one
as big as a mountain

Back then

Filled my mind
with remnants
of back then
an earlier time

A time when clocks
were HEAVY
and broken curfews
were a punishable crime

It's like hitting
a picture with a hammer
Childhood friendships
become scattered
reduced to part-time

Great youth was alive
money was of no important value
wealthy was a pocket full of dimes
It only makes sense
to me now in certain words
The ones that come
to me inside a rhyme

There's A River

I love any type of water and I like to think water will cleanse the body internally as well. Perhaps, maybe even your mind too. I passed the river in our town the other day, and it made me think of this poem. I like to think maybe it gives you a chance to "wipe the slate clean" when needed. For some reason the river and the way it flows, just presented this poem to me.

There's a river
bleeding life blood
back into me
I'm clinging to the current
while my body
floats beside me
Drowned upside down
sucking air from my feet
Walking on my hands
using water as a street

Invisibe Memory

Invisible memory
that's where
you'll find me

Between a dream and reality
unsure the destination
across a walkable sea

Run away from history
as it will be disguised
appearing better than before
dressed up in make-believe

Curtains

Curtains
They will open
People will sing
Songs not yet spoken

Hearts are fresh
Learning to bend
Not yet broken

Story to be told
Of a love so ALIVE
It never sleeps
Nor Dies
But has just woken

Sightless

Glasses act as reflectors
Magnified from the soul
Where words are windows
That look out into the world
Hearts project vision
To guide the way
Where love is blind
And souls play

Rediscovery

Looking for myself
between the rain
where the gaps are small

Hearing what nature has to say
anxiously listening for the phone
waiting on my life to call

Free

Is this it?
Feels........
Well then, it feels lonely
It appears kinda pale
Nothing or nobody
Just here, alone
Almost sick
Like a Hospital
That treats patients
Who are retuning from Hell
A place for which
A man can take
two extremes
tie them together
and listen to them yell

Beauty in the Shadows

                        Not the loudest
                        Not the center
                        Not the biggest

                        "But the one"

                         Pushing me ahead
                         Guiding from behind
                         Screaming with silence
                         Not to be outdone

                         Full of wisdom

                         From listening to all
                         Sitting in the dark
                         The first person you call

                         She reaches out

                         With both hands
                         To love unconditionally
                         What she sometimes
                         Doesn't  even understand

                         Puts the wrongdoers first

                         As she takes the blame
                         Works in the shadows
                         Constantly helping others
By knowing exactly what to say
                         Happy Mothers Day.........
